Morvan Gaudin wins the Bpifrance i-PhD award

The i-PhD award recognises the doctoral work behind the DeeeMines process, and opens a year of support from Bpifrance.
We are proud to announce that Morvan Gaudin has received the i-PhD award from Bpifrance. This annual distinction recognises scientific projects with high innovation potential.
The award recognises Morvan's doctoral research into the recovery of antimony, a metal classified as critical by the European Union, from the brominated plastics of end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment. This waste is largely incinerated in France and in Europe today, although it is an untapped strategic resource.
The research behind DeeeMines
The results of this thesis, carried out within the Urban Mining Chair at Chimie ParisTech - PSL with the support of the producer responsibility organisation ecosystem, formed the basis of the DeeeMines project, developed with Grégory Lefèvre, Vincent Semetey and Frédéric Rousseau.
Support for building a European antimony industry
Thanks to this award, the founders benefit from a year of support from Bpifrance: mentoring, deeptech expertise and strategic structuring. A decisive step towards industrialising the process and building a European recycling industry for antimony and brominated plastics.
We would like to thank Bpifrance warmly for its support.
